JNoS PR: I have represented clients in the areas of Film, Music, and Sports. I like to keep a diverse roster. JNoS Public Relations is more than a PR firm. I think like a Manager and act as an A&R, so I look for hard working talented people. There is nothing I hate to see more than a talented Artist letting their gift go to waste due to their lack of work ethic.

The INDIEgator: Yes! We’re with you on that note. Now for the Talent or Businesses that do have their stuff together, why do you think it is important for them to have proper PR representation?

JNoS PR: It is very important for Talent or Businesses to have proper representation because branding is everything these days. Not all people have the natural talent to effectively relate to the public. Any improper gesture could be detrimental to their company’s image.

The INDIEgator: What type of preparation or education should aspiring PR Specialists consider before starting in this industry?

JNoS PR: I would advise aspiring Publicists to take a few courses in Mass Communications and Business Management. You must learn to effectively communicate in all forms and you must also learn how to discipline yourself to successfully stay on course.

The INDIEgator: That makes sense. The right type of education can make all the difference in your effectiveness in this field, a field where you may often have to wear many different hats. You mentioned thinking like a Manager and more earlier. What is the main thing, in your opinion, that Publicists do which differs from Agents or Managers?

JNoS PR: In most cases, Agents are more responsible for finding work and negotiating contracts, Managers act as career guides, and a Publicist manages their clients’ public image and reputation. I actually operate as all three.

The INDIEgator: With all the hats you’ve worn and all the projects you’ve done up to now, can you tell us your favorite moment so far in your field?

JNoS PR: I honestly cannot define a favorite moment in my Career because I am always having fun working with my clients! I can tell you that working with Houston Texans DE Antonio Smith has really changed the game for me. It is truly a blessing.

The INDIEgator: Jennifer, what inspires you to want to shine a bright light on those you represent? What drives you everyday?

JNoS PR: I am inspired by each of my Artists because they work so hard to professionalize their careers in some facet. They endure obstacles that many would not hurdle. I know that I will be able to do more for Artists one day; there are so many ideas in my head. I am driven to become a great person of influence in the Entertainment industry; in order to be that, there are several things that I have to do the right way.

The INDIEgator: Do you have any words of encouragement for Entertainers or Business Owners out there that need public representation but don’t really know how to find someone?

JNoS PR: I would encourage Entertainers or Business Owners who are not certain about where to find a good Publicist to use the Google search engine to learn about how Publicists work. From there, they should look for one who best suits their needs.

The INDIEgator: Where can Potential Clients reach your company to find out more information on how to be considered by you?

JNoS PR: My company website is www.JNoSpublicrelations.com. You may also follow me on Twitter and Instagram @JNoSPR, or you may Email. If you have reached the point in your career where you are ready to build your brands relevance, contact me.

The INDIEgator: Finally, do you have any shout outs you’d like to give?

JNoS PR: I would like to give a shout out to my Husband DeeSmuve, to all of my Clients, my Team, a special shout out to Karma and Darvin Phillips, my Friends, Family and all of our Supporters!
